Merry Christmas to All……

What a wonderful term and couple of weeks at school we have had. We are thankful for all the blessings. In the past few weeks we have celebrated Mass, had a visit from Santa, collected a generous amount of food for others, hosted a christmas sale, had a wonderful Christmas Concert, and a liturgy and assembly today to celebrate our students.

Please join me in extending our deepest thanks to School Council and all the volunteers for the hard work and dedication that went into planning and preparing the Cookies with Santa event. We are so fortunate.

Please join me in thanking all the staff and students for the

hard work and preparation that went into the Christmas Concert. Such talented students and such dedicated staff made this a wonderful afternoon. We are blessed to have a staff that works so hard and cares so much.

Please join me in thanking Father and St. Ambrose parish for mass and our pageant sing-along. We are blessed to have such a caring parish to work alongside with.

The Staff of St. Anne would like to extend to you, a very Merry Christmas! Take some time to relax over the holidays and enjoy the company of family and friends. We look forward to seeing all of you again on January 6th, 2019!

A Christmas Creed

I believe in Jesus Christ and in the beauty of the gospel begun in Bethlehem.

I believe in the one whose spirit glorified a little town;
And whose spirit still brings music to persons all over the world
In towns both large and small.

I believe in the one for whom the crowded inn could find no room,
And I confess that my heart still sometimes wants to exclude Christ from my life today.

I believe in the one who the rulers of the earth ignored
and the proud could never understand;
whose life was among common people,
whose welcome came from persons of hungry hearts.

I believe in the one who proclaimed the love of God to be invincible.

I believe in God who gives us the best of himself.

I believe in Jesus, the son of the living God, born in Bethlehem this night, for me and for the world.

May God grant you the light in Christmas, which is Faith;
The warmth of Christmas, which is love;
The radiance of Christmas, which is purity;
The righteousness of Christmas, which is justice;
The belief in Christmas, which is truth;
The all of Christmas, which is Christ.

Merry Christmas from the staff of St Anne. God bless you and your family.  See you all in 2019!

Looking for support over the holiday?

Hello Families,

There are many people in our community who need some additional support to enjoy the Christmas Season.

We work in partnership with our school Parish, St. Ambrose, and the St. Vincent de Paul Society who can help with food/clothing hampers, gift cards, and toys.

If you need support or you know someone who does, please contact or call 519-623-8764

Over the years we have been able to support many families so that everyone can enjoy the Christmas Season.

The St. Vincent de Paul Society will cross-reference the families with the local Firefighters’ Basket Fund.

Hampers will be delivered on December 21st.

Thank you,

St. Anne School Staff

Food drive continues……

St. Anne 3rd Annual
Hamper and Food Drive
for Saint Vincent de Paul
December 2-18

We would appreciate any donations of non-perishable food items and toiletries to help create Christmas Hampers for local families. Hampers will be gifted during the Christmas holiday.

God bless and Merry Christmas!

School Open – Wednesday, December 4th, 2019

Hello Families,

As you may have heard, the Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation (OSSTF) has announced plans for a one-day strike on Wednesday, December 4, 2019.

OSSTF does not represent any staff working in our elementary and secondary schools, therefore all Waterloo Catholic District School Board elementary and secondary schools will be open and running on their normal schedules tomorrow.

WCDSB teaching staff are represented by the Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association (OECTA), and negotiations with the province are still on-going. We are hopeful the two sides will reach a fair and respectful collective agreement.

However, OSSTF does represent some staff working at our St. Louis Adult Learning and Continuing Education Centres, and the one day strike will result in the following programs and services being CLOSED on December 4:

  • English as a Second Language (ESL) classes at all campuses.
  • Language Instruction for New Canadians (LINC) classes at all campuses.
  • Literacy Basic Skills (LBS) classes – also known as CorE classes – at all campuses.
  • Spots for Tots childcare and LINC Childminding sites at both the both the Downtown Kitchener Main Campus and the Highland Road campus.

PLEASE NOTE: All other St. Louis programs will be running on normal schedules.

Thank you,

St. Anne School Staff

ITEMS NEEDED – Annual Christmas Sale……

Hello Families,

We are in need of items for our sale or we may need to cancel. Please review the information below. Fingers crossed we have enough to run the event………..

On behalf of our Social Justice club and Student Government, we are pleased to announce that we will be holding our annual Christmas sale on Tuesday, December 10! We will be using all proceeds from the sale to support our WE school global fundraising initiative this year. We will be raising funds for WE Villages, specifically focused on education in a Kenyan community. The students are so thrilled to be working to support the equal access to education that will be available because of fundraisers like ours.

Just like last year, we are looking for donations of gently used items for us to sell to our school community. Some of the popular items from last year included picture frames, games, movies, jewellery and houseware items. We would like to avoid selling clothing as all items would need to be washed prior to sale. All items will be priced at $1.00. We would like to have gift bags and wrapping available for students who are purchasing items as gifts, so we would appreciate donations of these as well. We will begin to accept donations immediately. Please send in any items you have to school with your child, and his/her teacher will ensure that it gets to us.

As like last year, we will be selling candy canes for 50 cents. All proceeds from the candy cane sales will go towards buying socks and underwear for children in Guatemala so that we may reach our goal.

Both of these initiatives are student generated and we are so proud that we have so many students in our community that want to help others.

Thank-you in advance for helping to support our students and their desire to make the world a better place for others!

Merry Christmas!

~ St. Anne Social Justice Club & Student Government
