All other St. Louis Adult Learning & Continuing Education Centres programs will be running as per their normal schedules.

Community use of schools activities will continue as scheduled.

OECTA’s previously announced job actions will remain in effect before and after March 5.

As before, we remain hopeful the two sides will return to the bargaining table quickly and will come to a fair and respectful agreement that serves the best interests of our students.

Tomorrow is Pink Shirt Day….

From its humble beginnings in 2007 in small-town Nova Scotia, Pink Shirt Day has spread across the globe as a way to simply encourage us to look beyond our differences and celebrate the things that make us unique. When we lift each other up, we see past the things which separate us and see instead the things that unite us as people. Last year alone, people in almost 180 countries shared their support of Pink Shirt Day through social media posts and donations.

On February 26, 2020, we encourage everyone at the Waterloo Catholic District School Board to practice kindness and wear pink to school or work to symbolize unity in inclusion. The focus for 2020 is “lift each other up.”

Strong start volunteers needed……

Strong Start Volunteers are Needed

Volunteers are needed to coach children in our Strong Start reading program at St. Anne School. Volunteer Coaches will work with Kindergarten and grade one students who need an extra boost in learning letter names, sounds and sight words. Through fun literacy games and activities, coaches teach children in a one-to-one setting. The program schedule is flexible and requires a minimum of half an hour a week for a ten week period. Training sessions for coaches are running throughout February. You can learn more about Strong Start at www.strongstart.ca or contact Julie Silva Julie.Silva@wcdsb.ca if you have any questions.

Tomorrow is Shrove Tuesday……

Hello Families,

On Tuesday, February 25th we will be recognizing Shrove Tuesday. Shrove Tuesday precedes Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent.

Traditionally, we celebrate Shrove Tuesday by enjoying pancakes as we prepare for the 40 days of Lent.

Our School Advisory Council has once again, generously planned a school pancake meal for all students. The cost and all supplies are covered by Council. We will have 2 sittings on Tuesday, first for SK-3 and secondly for grades 4-8.

You will still need to pack a regular lunch, but you may consider this as a morning snack.

Our thanks to Council and all the volunteers who make wonderful events like this possible.

Thank you.
