If my child feels sick while at school?

Hello Families,

We wanted to share with you in a very clear and concise manner, the process we have in place for children who are at school and develop symptoms or who let us know that they are not feeling well.

  1. The classroom teacher will contact the office and the student will come down.
  2. A staff member from the office will escort the student to our isolation room where we will discuss how they are feeling and gain insight as to what their symptoms might be.
  3. The student’s temperature will be taken with our contactless thermometer.
  4. If they are exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 (which in some cases can mirror other illnesses), we will be contacting parents to come and pick up the child immediately.
  • Parents, please have a “Plan A” and a “Plan B” in place in case your child needs to be picked up during the day.
  1. When you come to pick up your child, we will be speaking to you about the symptoms that we see and we will in most cases encourage you to take them for a COVID-19 test. You also have the option of, and we will encourage you to, take them to a Health Care Professional (e.g. family doctor, nurse practitioner, walk-in clinic, etc.)

Once you have a Health Care Professional examine your child and determine that it is NOT COVID related, the child may return to school 24 hours after the symptoms subside.  Please note that this would likely not be the next day of school.

If the Health Care Professional determines that it is in fact COVID-19, you need to let the school know immediately.  We will take the necessary steps to contact public health and work to inform the others necessary, so that they can go get tested as well.

If you choose to not seek the advice of a Health Care Professional, we would ask that you have them self-isolate for 14 days to ensure that no additional symptoms emerge.  They are more than welcome to return to school after that time.

This is the process that has been outlined for schools to follow and keep everyone safe.

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.

Kind regards,

St. Anne School Staff

Morning Arrival……

Hello Phoenix Families,

Thank you for two great –  first days of school 😉  Today we welcome grades 1,2,3,4,5,6……..

A reminder to parents that you must maintain personal space when on school property. We know it is hard by the gate where children access the yard, but it is for the safety of all.

An update for morning arrival is that students must gather in their designated zones to maintain personal space. This is a change from past practice. Staff will be available to help direct our kids and show them where to line up safety at bell times.

The attached map shows where each grades zone is located.

Teachers continue to call home to welcome you if they are your child’s teacher for this year.

It was so great to see the kids back at school and we thank you for your continued support.

Be well,

Tomorrow is the big day! We are finally back together. Staff have been working overtime to get everything ready. We can’t wait to see you.

As a reminder, our staggered start dates are as follows:

  • Grades 1 and 2 students will start on Tuesday, September 8th, and attend each day from then on.
  • Grades 3 and 4 students will start on Wednesday, September 9th, and attend each day following.

Update – Class assignments……

Hello Phoenix Families,

With the need to transfer all the students who opted to attend the remote school, St. Isidore, and a new computer platform for creating class lists that has been problematic, we are backlogged with class assignments.

Phone calls may be going out today and in the coming days.

If you do not get a phone call, or SchoolCash notification with your child’s classroom assignment before their staggered start date, your child will be greeted on the blacktop by school staff who will help them find their teacher, line up, etc.

We are working hard to iron out the details and we thank you for your patience and understanding. These are unique circumstances.

If your child is attending St. Isidore, staff from that school will be in touch with you. The start date is September 14th.

As a reminder, our staggered start dates are as follows:
