Photo day and more……

Hello Families,

There may have been an incorrect date for picture day shared. Please note that our picture day this year is scheduled for Wednesday, October 6th.

As we did not have a picture day last year, we really hope all students will be in attendance. This way we will have updated OSR photos and school records. A re-take day will be booked – stay tuned……….

Please see the attached letter form the Director.

We also want to remind you that our Thanksgiving food drive is underway, and we need your help. All donations help families in our community. We will be collecting non-perishable food donations up to the 15th of October.

Friday, October 8th is a P.A. Day.

Monday, October the 11th is the Thanksgiving holiday.

Thank you,

St. Anne School Staff

Quick Update……

Hello Phoenix Families,

Just a quick update…..

Since we are not able to gather for our annual Meet the Teacher BBQ, staff have prepared Meet the Teacher presentations that will be posted to their Google classroom/D2L. Please reach out to your child’s teacher is you have any questions.

Our Terry Fox run/walk day is Tuesday, September 28, with a rain date to be selected if needed. We are asking for a Toonie donation if possible to be brought in. Classes will be participating on our school yard with divisional classmates. This is always a wonderful event at our school, and we thank you for the support.

We have a virtual school assembly planned for this Thursday, the 30th for Orange Shirt Day (Truth and Reconciliation) as we learn more together about the Indigenous peoples experience with residential schools in Canada.

If your address or contact information has changed, please update Mrs. Estabrooks in the main office.

If your child is going to be absent from school, please call in to leave a message so we are not calling you once attendance is completed in the classroom.

Thank you,

St. Anne School Staff

Update: Daily Screening…

Hello Families,

Just a reminder that you no longer need to sign off that you have completed the daily screener with your children, but you do need to continue completing the screener before sending your children to school.

The screening tool can be found using the following link:

Please note that all staff complete the screener each day as well.

We appreciate working together to keep everyone safe.

Catholic School Advisory Council…

Hello Families,

On behalf of our Catholic School Advisory Council (CSAC), welcome back to another exciting year at St. Anne School! There are many new and exciting things the School Council is working on for the 2021-2022 school year.  We encourage all of you to get involved. Our first official meeting of the year will be held on Tuesday, October 5th, 2021, at 6:30, remotely over Microsoft TEAMS. We welcome all new and returning parents!

CSAC’s goal is to help parents to keep informed on educational matters in an open forum. CSAC is also involved with a variety of fundraising initiatives. All money raised goes back to our school to support our students and student learning.

CSAC meetings are open to all parents with children attending our school. All parents and teachers are invited to attend, however only CSAC members are eligible to vote on Council matters.

The members of CSAC include the Principal, Vice-Principal a teacher representative, and parent representatives. Elected positions from the parent representatives include the Chairperson, Treasurer, and Secretary. Other positions available include the Fundraising Chair and Special Lunch Chair. If you would like to take on one of the elected roles, we welcome your commitment. You will be required to attend our meetings and report on your responsibilities as necessary.

If you would like to be nominated for a CSAC executive role, please email Mr. Noonan ( by September 30th, indicating what position you would like to be considered for (Chair, Treasurer, Secretary). We are looking forward to a very exciting year.

For Bus Students……

Hello Phoenix Families,

We wanted to remind students eligible for bussing of the following…..

We are required to submit a seating plan to Public Health for contact tracking and precious time is wasted calling out to families who are eligible, but do not ride the bus.

If you qualify for the bus, but you have no plans to ride, you are required to fill out a “Do not Ride” form with STSWR.

Here is the link:

This will help with more efficient route planning and contact tracing if we have a positive case.

We greatly appreciate your support.

Be well,

St. Anne School Staff

Friendly Reminder…

Hello Families,

Our parkin lot continues to be a safety concern. Two vehicles have been hit just this week and no report made at the office. Our procedures are communicated monthly in our Newsletter. They are sent out monthly as a reminder, and as an update for new families who join our community throughout the year.

Please note that if you are not a bus student, you are a walker. We continue to have a large number of students being driven to school who should be walking. Walking/biking/scooting, etc. is a great way to get a little burst of exercise, some fresh air, and a chance to socialize with friends. When we all walk together – we are all safe. With more families walking/biking/scooting, etc. that means more of a presence in our community and keeps us all safe.

The following procedures apply to everyone and it is our expectation they will be followed.

There is no parking in our lot for student drop off or pick up (9:00-9:20 & 3:40-4:00. Arriving early and idling your car in the lot, using up spaces for staff and guests is taking advantage of our procedures. If need be, we will call the city to have tickets issued or close the lot. Several times already this year, staff have had to find alternative parking and then move their vehicles later in the day.

  • If you park on the street, you do so at your own risk. The city has been out to issue tickets from time to time.
  • Parking is available for parents at all other times, if you have a scheduled appointment at the school throughout the day.
  • There is no parking in our bus zone out front at any time at any time. You may be ticketed.
  • There is no parking out front of the Allison Neighbourhood Community Centre during school hours. This space is reserved for staff, and service vehicles
  • Speed must be reduced when pulling into and out of our lot
  • There is no parking in our designated handicapped spots as per city bylaw unless you have a pass posted in your vehicle. It is shocking that these spaces would be used by those who do not need the support.

“Kiss n Drop”

  • There is no parking in our “Kiss n Drop” at any time!
  • Vehicles must reduce speed even when pulling away
  • If you have a young one, you may get out to open the door for your child, but please do so quickly so as not to hold up others waiting behind you. Don’t store backpacks in the trunk as it takes extra time to get them out. Have the kids hold them on their lap.
  • You may not park in the “Kiss n Drop” and then walk your child to the yard or door
  • Students can safely walk onto the school yard once they exit your vehicle on the sidewalk
  • Vehicles should not pull around other vehicles dropping off at the “Kiss n Drop” but wait until that car pulls out

We encourage healthy active routes to school. Dress accordingly and walk to school, in groups if

possible. Ride your bike and lock it up at one of our many racks out front.

If you have questions, call the office and book an appointment to meet with Mr. Noonan. We would be

more than happy to meet and review our procedures with you.

These procedures are in place for the safety of all children. We thank you in advance for your cooperation and support.

Thank you,

St. Anne School Staff

Busses running late….

Our busses are running late. As of 4:08 – Blue bus has still not arrived at the school. It is on the way so we ask for you patience at the bus stops.

Thank you,
