Waterloo Catholic District School Board Schools Closed Friday, December 23 due to Weather

Dec. 22, 2022

Good Evening Phoenix Families,

major winter storm is expected to reach Waterloo Region overnight tonight and is expected to cause dangerous driving conditions on Friday and over the weekend.

Based on this forecast – and with the safety of all in mind – the WCDSB in collaboration with the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) and Student Transportation Services of Waterloo Region, has made the proactive decision to cancel ALL student transportation and close all schools tomorrow, Friday, December 23, 2022.

  • All before and after school programs and child care centres co-located in schools will also be closed.
  • all programs and services offered by St. Louis Adult Learning and Continuing Education Centres are cancelled and St. Louis sites will be closed.

We pray that everyone is able to remain safe during the storm. The staff at St. Anne would like to wish everyone a happy and blessed Christmas and all the best in 2023!

We look forward to seeing everyone back at school on Monday, January 9, 2023.

Christmas Concert…

Hello Families,

Our Christmas Concert is scheduled for Wednesday, December 21-22.

We have a very small school gym that became overcrowded at previous concerts. In an effort to reduce numbers and alleviate some parking concerns on side streets, we will have two performances this year.

Performance 1: JK to grade 3 students beginning at 10:00

Performance 2: Grades 4-8 students beginning at 1:30

We ask please that only two members from each household come to a performance so that we are not overcrowded.

Parking:

Our parking lot will be full of staff vehicles so you will have to find you own parking on side streets. Please note city bylaws.

Entrance:

We will have the side entrance at the community center doors open for easy access to the gym.

Performances:

See the list below but unfortunately, we cannot share exactly when your child’s class will perform.

Photo’s:

We will have benches set up at the front so that parents of the children in the class currently performing can move up close to take photos, but then return to their seats at the end of their child’s class performance.

We kindly ask that you only take photos of your child. Please do not post photos of other people’s children on any social media platforms.

Our staff and students work so very hard on these performances. We look forward to sharing this event with you.

See you on the 21st.
