Parent/Student/Teacher Conferences…

Dear Families,

We look upon the upcoming student/parent/teacher conferences on Thursday, November 24th, as a great opportunity for us to gain a better understanding of your son/daughter’s academic abilities. Conferences will be in-person this year.

Students that take ownership for their learning have an enhanced chance of being successful in school. They better understand and can identify what their strengths are and what they need to focus on to achieve success each term. Therefore, we encourage students to attend along with parents/guardians.

Conferences will be 10 minutes in length and run from 4:10-9:00. Teachers will be booking their own conference schedule. To accommodate this planning, we ask that you complete the following and return this letter to your child’s teacher by November 14. A hard copies was also provided and should be sent home this week.

Conference Request Form – 2022

Thank you,

St. Anne School Staff

School resumes / Chromebooks return…

Hello Families,

Please return all Chromebooks tomorrow – with the charger, as school will resume.

WCDSB Schools to Re-open on Tuesday, November 8, 2022

As a result of this morning’s announcement by the Premier that the Ontario government will rescind Bill 28 and will return to collective bargaining with the Canadian Public Sector Employees Union – Ontario — (CUPE), education workers represented by CUPE have agreed to pause their job action and return to schools effective tomorrow – Tuesday, November 8, 2022.

This means all WCDSB schools (including St. Louis) will be open on November 8 for a regular day of classes.

All school transportation will be running as regularly scheduled.

All WCDSB extended day programs will be running on their regular schedules.

We thank you for your patience and understanding as we transitioned into remote learning, and we pray that both sides will quickly reach a fair and just collective agreement that serves the interests of all.

Chromebooks…

Hello Families,

CUPE labour action / Chromebooks…

Hello Families,

It appears at this time there will be a CUPE labour disruption tomorrow and our schools will be closed to students.

Our CUPE employees, which includes our Librarian, our Office Administrative Assistants, our Educational Assistants, our Early Childhood Educators, our Child and Youth Care Workers and our Lunch Hour Supervisors.

We have been working hard to prepare Chromebook devices and sent home as many as possible today. It is a significant undertaking to prepare them, and we will continue to do so in the coming days, though at a slower pace without CUPE staff who typically support this process.

If you need a device and have not yet done so, please complete the request form here:

https://lf.wcdsb.ca/forms/APC052-05F.

Thank you,

St. Anne School Staff

Soper Park community input is needed…

Hello Families,

There are exciting things being designed to reinvigorate Soper Park and community input is needed! An Amenity feature is being planned for future construction that will update the area currently known as the Kinsman Soper Park Pool.

The City is planning upgrades for future construction that will reinvigorate the area. We will be collecting community feedback in the month of November in person, and online. There will be an open Public Information Centre (P.I.C.) and an online ‘Engage Cambridge’ survey which will also be collecting feedback.

Please visit our webpage (linked here: https://www.engagewr.ca/soperpark) for dates and additional details.
