Are a result of our most recent positive case, Public Health will be declaring an outbreak at St. Anne’s Catholic Elementary School. The Ministry of Education and Ministry of Health have defined a school outbreak as two or more lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases in students and/or staff in a school with an epidemiological link, within a 14-day period, where at least one case could have reasonably acquired their infection in the school.
No additional classrooms or cohorts will be dismissed. No further action is required for the current classrooms that have been dismissed. We are working with Region of Waterloo Public Health to prevent further spread of COVID-19 in students, staff and the community.
Public Health is required to post all school outbreaks on their website. They will be updating this tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. It will include the school’s name and number of cases.
Please review the attachment from Public Health for families.
All staff and students directly affected have been, or will be contacted by Public Health. With schools returning to a remote learning block, learning will be able to continue for all students following the April break. Classroom teachers will be in touch with more details about remote learning.
We thank you for your patience and understanding.
Please continue to stay safe.
